April 7: WACK Easter Egg Hunt
Annual Easter Egg Hunt begins at 10am. Pick up your bags at Lyons National Bank, Newark Wegmans, Dunkin Donuts, or Subway. Silver Hill Tech Park, 305 East Avenue, Newark.   
    
April 7: Lyons Easter Egg Hunt
At Lyons Village Park beginning at noon! Hosted by LEAP Program and Lyons Girl Scouts. Noon to 3:30pm Spring/ Easter themed games, Cookie decorating, crafts, Egg Bowling,Egg decorating, and of course The Easter Bunny!  

April 7: Easter Egg Hunt to Benefit Local Cancer Patient
North Rose Wollcott Interact Club will be hosting at Easter egg hunt at the NRW High School. Cost of the hunt is $5 per child to benifit Michelle Conrow, a mother and local hair dresser fighting her second battle with ovarian cancer. Egg hunter uder 10 years of age should arrive shortly before 10:30am at the NRW soccer field. The hunts will be broken down into 3 age categories. Bring own basket or container. April 7: Winter Lecture Series

April 18: Montezuma Birding Van Tour
9am to 12noon. It’s migration madness in the Montezuma Wetlands Complex.  Buckle up in the MAC van and we’ll drive to the Montezuma’s birding hot-spots and experience the spring migration first hand.  Participants are encouraged to bring their cameras and binoculars or borrow our binoculars. April 19: Hill Cumorah Pageant – 75th Anniversary Program
A program will be presented by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints depicting the beginning of the Hill Cumorah Pageant in 1937 and its progress and growth throughout its 75 years within the communities of Palmyra and Manchester. 7 pm. April 20: Lock 30 Clean-up (Village of Macedon)

 The Village of Macedon needs volunteers to help clean up Canal Park, Lock 30 and behind Berry Plastics in the Village of Macedon. Volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves, rakes, weed tools. Calling all jewelry and accessory lovers, jewelry makers and treasure hunters! The Friends of the Marion Library will be hosting a gently used purse, scarf and costume jewelry sale. Friday 2pm to 6pm and Saturday 9 am to noon.

Members of the Village’s Main Street Program and local residents will spruce up and clean up both sides of the canal between the Old Leach Road Iron Canal Bridge to the west and the SR 14 Bridge to the east. April 21: Macedon’s Canalway Trail Clean Sweep

 Members of the Town of Macedon Trails Committee will lead volunteers along various sections of the Canalway Trail to pick up litter, clear brush and rake where needed. April 21: Galen Clean Sweep on the Enlarged Erie Canal

Bring your hand saws, loppers and pruners to groom along the Canal Trail on Saturday 4/21, rain or shine. We will spread out on the trail headed in both directions from Black Brook County Park and will work until noon. Long sleeves and sturdy footwear are recommended. Snacks and beverages will be provided by Trail Works, Inc. Meet at Black Brook County Park on Old Lyons Road in Galen, 9 am. April 21:Volunteer Trail Tracker Event
After a mild and wet winter, our trails and flower beds are in need of some TLC. Join us for a fun morning of trail maintenance, mulching and bird watching too. The birds will whistle while we work! Lunch will be provided. Fee: FREE! 9am - 1pm. Montezuma Audubon Center.

April 21: Spaghetti Dinner
Serving 4 pm to 7:30 pm at the Williamson First United Methodist Church, 4146 East Main Street. Tickets: $7 Adults, $5 Seniors & Children 6-9; Children age 5 and under Free. Tickets can be purchased from Troop 90 Boy Scouts or at the door. Take out dinners are also available.      

April 22: Song Fest
Multi-church song fest, starts at 6 pm. Refreshments following.  Alton Gospel Tabernacle, 5849 Rt. 14,Sodus.

April 22: Sodus Village Clean Up
Come and celebrate Earth Day with your neighbors who will meet at the First United Presbyterian Church (31 West Main Street) from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm to spruce up the community. Please dress for the weather. Garbage bags and rubber gloves will be provided. Please bring your own work gloves and a wagon, if you have one. Refreshments will be served at the Presbyterian Church after clean up.

April 22: Class of 2012 Chicken BBQ
Sodus High School Class of 2012 is holding a Chicken BBQ at the Sodus Center Fire Hall from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. This is a fundrasier for the class- Tickets for the BBQ can be purchased from any Sodus High School senior or at the door for $8. Funds raised will support Class of 2012 events: the senior picnic, senior breakfast, and graduation.  

April 22: East Palmyra Fire Department Open House
Open House and Recruitment Drive. Hot dogs, coffee, and light refreshments will be served.  EPFD will open its doors to area residents, so they can learn about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter in their community, as part of a statewide program called RecruitNY. Throughout the day, the East Palmyra Fire Department will conduct tours of the station and firefighter apparatus, allow visitors to try on firefighter gear, spray water from an engine’s attack line and deck gun, and provide activities and stations throughout the firehouse for visitors. There will be a “live vehicle extrication demo” at 1pm. The fire department will discuss the requirements to be a volunteer, as well as conduct demonstrations, answer questions, and let visitors know how to get involved in the fire department. 11am to 2pm. April 24: Trail Works presents “Green Fire”

April 25: Derby Hill Hawk Watch
Visit Lake Ontario for the spectacular spring raptor migration and leave the driving to us. 8am to 2pm. Travel in the Montezuma Audubon Center van to witness hundreds and perhaps thousands of broad-winged hawks, red-tailed hawks, bald eagles and many more! If weather conditions do not cooperate, the program will be moved to Thursday, April 26. This program is offered in cooperation with the Onondaga Audubon Society. April 26: Shade Grown Coffee House and Open Mic Night
The Montezuma Audubon Center hosts a coffee house/open mic featuring local music and talent. Come relax and enjoy the music or sign up to perform. April 27: Free Night of Music

At the First Presbyterian Church at 4057 Ridge Road in Williamson. Folks have worked hard and have graciously accepted the invitations to make this event happen. You'll hear solos, duets, piano, guitar, and more echo through the wonderful acoustics in the church sanctuary.

April 27: Star Gazing Party at Casey Park

A Star gazing Party will be held outside the lodge at Casey Park at 8:45 pm. The event is free. Telescopes will be set up by local star gazing enthusiasts. Come see a sky viewing of Saturn, Mars, Venus, the Moon and various constellations and other celestial objects! All adults and supervised children are welcome. April 28: Village of Clyde Clean Sweep 2012

Residents of the Village and members of SPAN will meet at the village dock and send groups east and west to pick up debris, bringing them to Lauraville Landing for the village to pick up. SPAN’s annual hot dog roast will be held afterwards. Meet at Lauraville Landing, Clyde, 10 am. (Rain date on 4/29, but will be closer to noon)

The MAC is pleased to welcome Bob Walker, accomplished local nature photographer, who will explain what can be done to capture images of wildlife by using methods to hide you from your subject(s). April 29: Charity Auction
Wayne County Rural Ministry and Williamson Come-Unity Center, Inc are holding a Charity Auction to raise money to support programs that help feed, cloth, and provide emergency financial assistance. The Auction begins at 2 pm and the preview is at 1:30 pm. The Auctioneer is Carol Ritter-Wright. Items that are up for bid are a kindle, Children's entertainment, 2 B&B Get-Aways, Sporting events, books signed by authors and much more. Tickets are $5. to reserve tickets call the Center at (315) 589-8105 or you can purchase them at the door. The Auction takes place at Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, 7030 Bayview Drive, Sodus point.
