April 22: Class of 2012 Chicken BBQ Sodus High School Class of 2012 is holding a Chicken BBQ at the Sodus Center Fire Hall from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. This is a fundrasier for the class- Tickets for the BBQ can be purchased from any Sodus High School senior or at the door for $8. Funds raised will support Class of 2012 events: the senior picnic, senior breakfast, and graduation.
April 22: East Palmyra Fire Department Open HouseOpen House and Recruitment Drive. Hot dogs, coffee, and light refreshments will be served. EPFD will open its doors to area residents, so they can learn about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter in their community, as part of a statewide program called RecruitNY. Throughout the day, the East Palmyra Fire Department will conduct tours of the station and firefighter apparatus, allow visitors to try on firefighter gear, spray water from an engine’s attack line and deck gun, and provide activities and stations throughout the firehouse for visitors. There will be a “live vehicle extrication demo” at 1pm. The fire department will discuss the requirements to be a volunteer, as well as conduct demonstrations, answer questions, and let visitors know how to get involved in the fire department. 11am to 2pm.
