Snowshoe At the Montezuma Audubon Center!

Ready for some outdoor adventure?  Try snowshoeing at the Montezuma Audubon Center!  Snowshoes are available for rent.  Costs:  $5 adults & $3 children.  For additional information call (315) 365-3588.  MAC, 2295 Route 89, Savannah. ny.audubon.org/montezuma.htm

 

January 7: Hot Cocoa and Snow—Snowshoe and X-C Ski

Cross-country skiers and snowshoes are welcome to kickoff the winter season at the Montezuma Audubon Center with two guided events. Skiers will be led around the two-mile groomed trail while snowshoers will explore the signs of winter on the forest and grassland trail.  Afterwards, everyone will warm up inside with a cup of hot cocoa. *Fee including snowshoe rental: $5/child, $7.50/adult, $20/family; Fee without rental: $3/child, $5/adult, $15/family. January 11: Hot Cocoa and Snow—X-C Ski at Howland’s Island

Cross-country skiers will be led around Howland’s Island, one of the wildest places in the Montezuma Wetlands Complex, to enjoy the beauty of this winter wonderland. January 14:  Family Ski and Snowboard Nights at Brantling

January 21: Owl Prowl

Owls are among the silent hunters of the night. Live owls will be on display during an indoor presentation on local owl habitats by animal rehabilitator Ron Walker. January 21: Winter Wine and Food Affair

The Rotary Clubs of Wayne County will host a Winter Wine and Food Affair on Saturday, January 21st at the Alex Eligh Community Center located at 303 East Avenue, Newark, New York.  The event will feature two tasting sessions:  an early session from 5p.m. - 7p.m. or a later session from 7p.m. – 9p.m.  Guests will be offered tastings and sales from over 20 wineries, farm markets and food establishments. January 21,22: Wine and Chili Fest

January 26: Shade Grown Coffee House and Open Mic Night

The Montezuma Audubon Center hosts a coffee house/open mic featuring local music and talent. Come relax and enjoy the music or sign up to perform. Each coffee house will feature a brief presentation on a timely environmental issue. The topic this month is Wetland Habitats. January 28: Kick Cancer Out Benefit Tournament

Three Kuk Sool Won Martial Arts Schools will have an inter-school tournament and demonstration to raise money for cancer. Casey Park, 6551 knickerbocker Road, Ontario. 1pm to 5pm. www.kuksoolwon.com

 

January 28: 7th Annual Red Cross Vegas Night
