June 9: 7th Annual Run for the Red 5K
Presented by Market Alternatives to raise funds for Local Disaster Relief provided by the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross. The fee is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the race. June 9: Nature of Montezuma Lecture: NYS Purple Martin Project
The MAC is pleased to welcome Rick Marx from the New York State Purple Martin Project for a lecture and monitoring activity. The New York State Purple Martin project is a collaborative effort of partners educating citizens in the conservation of Purple Martins, with the goal of increasing the declining Purple Martin populations throughout New York State. Following an infomative presentation, Mr. Marx will demonstrate how to monitor Purple Martins housing units. Fee: $3/child, $5/adult, $15/family, FREE for Friends of Montezuma Wetlands Complex.

The Lake Ontario counties annually host a series of the world’s best freshwater tournaments known as the LOC Derby. We continue our series exploring the Montezuma wetland waterways. Enjoy the last bit of spring birding on a leisurely canoe paddle. June 16: 13th Annual Canoe/Kayak Trip on Ganargua Creek
The Ganargua Creek is a wonderful natural resource in Wayne County. Plan to be in on the fun. Begin at 9am at Swift Landing Park in Palmyra, ending at Norsen Park. Registration at 9am, it will be a 3-4 hour trip. Free bus ride back to cars provided by Arcadia Transportation. Lunch available at the end of the trip for a small fee. June 25: Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association Annual Golf Tournament
The Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association is celebrating it's 56th year of summer camp, providing swimming and sailing instruction on Great Sodus Bay. Our tournament is one way that we can raise money to supplement the tuition and cover program expenses. As we move forward with the plans to expand the opportunities at SBJSA, we rely on fundraising to keep our tuition low. This also allows us to care properly for our equipment, expand our fleet, and save for the future. Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club does a great job of making the tournament special for our guests, as those that attended last year will attest. A beatiful golfing venue, exciting prizes and shared fellowship in support of a great cause were enjoyed by all. Please join us again for golf and dinner this year at 1 pm t o celebrate on the first day of our camp's 2012 season!
