Wayne Ontario Saddle Club, Inc.
The Way-Ont Saddle Club has been in existence since 1948 and caters to family events whether you are a spectator or competitor and we welcome new members. We have many events throughout the month. May 1-31: Paws For A Cause
Buy a paw print for $1 in memory of or in honor of someone or a beloved pet. The paws will be hung in the Humane Society Shalter until after their open house. Paw Prints can be bought at various stores through out Wayne County and the Humane Society of Wayne County Shelter. www.hswaynepets.org

May 2: Tony Bennett- His Life and Music
Williamson-Pultneyville Historical Society will be hosting Tony Bennett and Guest Speaker, Doris Admek. Come and learn more about this engaging entertainer who has been a legend in his own time! May 4 - May 13: LOC Spring Derby 

 The Lake Ontario counties annually host a series of the world’s best freshwater tournaments know as the LOC Derby. Thousands of anglers hit the lake each year in pursuit of thousands of dollars in cash prizes for salmon, lake trout, brown trout and rainbow/steelhead trout. Registration sites and weigh stations are located along the entire southern Lake Ontario shoreline. www.loc.org. (888) 733-5246

May 5: Dinner for the CURE
The Pultneyville Deli is participating in Dinner for a CURE which is raising funds to help find a cure for type 1 Diabetes. Dinner options will include: Pulled Pork plate or Pulled Brisket plate with two sides for $10, or sandwich with no sides for $6; hot dog with one side for $5. All meals sold with your choice of bottled water or soda. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to JDRF on behalf of Brain Deb Lange, owners of the Pultneyville Deli Co. which also includes all tipping (so tip well). 4 pm to 7 pm. May 5: Cracker Box Palace Open House & Derby Day
Walk the farm, meet the animals, take a hay ride and have some fun! 10am to 3pm. Derby Day begins at 3pm with a silent hat auction. The hats will be from local businesses and individuals and they will decorated for the Derby. Join everyone at the Bunkhouse to watch the Kentucky Derby on a big screen TV. May 5: 14th Annual Pines of Peace
Charity Luncheon & Auction, Guest Auctioneer: Carol Ritter-Wright. At Sodus Bay Heights Restaurant, 7030 Bay View Drive, Sodus Point. Check-in, silent Auction and Preview began at 11 am. May 5: Annual Wildlife Festival
The Montezuma Audubon Center will be hosting its 6th Annual Wildlife Festival from 10am to 3pm. The Wildlife Festival will bring enthusiasts together to discover the wonders of nature, the wealth of healthy living through recreation, and the richness of history that surrounds the area. May 5: Lip Smackin McCraken BBQ
BBQ Pulled Pork Dinner at the Wolcott VFW (across from the Pit Stop) from noon until sold out. This event is to help support American Cancer Society Relay for Life of North Wayne County and Jonesen For a Cure. Tickets are available at the Wolcott VFW. 

May 5-6: Cinco de Vino

May 6:Sodus Crop Walk
The Sodus Crop walk sponsored by the Sodus Council of Church invites all to participate. Walker envelopes may be obtained by calling (315) 483-4259. We walk because they walk. Millions of people around the world walk long distances every day to get water; to bring home food for their families; to find wood for fuel and fodder for livestock; to farm distant fields, to find medical care when illness strike. etc. Make a difference in your community and the world. Join Naturalist and Nature Photographer Dave Spier for a hike around our forest, grassland and wetlands to capture the sights and sounds of spring. May 17: Montezuma Birding Van Tour
Migrating songbirds are on the move as the spring migration season is in full swing.  Hop in our van for an    excursion to Montezuma’s birding hot-spots where dozens of warbler, vireo, and thrush and sparrow species can bee seen and heard! Participants are encouraged to bring their camera and binoculars.
