February 23, 2012

We are traveling again!  Chris Kenyon is on his way to the Springfield Sportsmen’s Show at the Eastern States Exposition.

If you live in the area and go to the show runs February 23 – 26, 2012.

SHOW HOURS

Thursday 3pm to 9pm

Friday noon to 9pm

Saturday 9am to 7pm

Sunday 10am to 5pm

Streams: Stream fishing has been to-notch; unquestionably the best early spring steelhead fishing in years. The warm winter has played havoc with ice fishing; however the browns and steelhead are not only in the streams but in the channels of the bays.

Matter of fact some trophy browns have been caught in the Sodus Channel.

Maxwell Creek has been hot at the mouth of the stream. No snow…no ice…just easy walking close to the lake.

You can also launch boats at the north end of Sodus Bay. Lake water is high, however if you are careful you can troll the shoreline.

Bays: Stream fishing has been the best, but ice fishing has been doomed from the start. There was only one week of safe ice for the entire season.

Canal: Same bad news for canal fishing. No ice!
