Streams; With our warm winter weather sending our ice fishing season into oblivion, try the streams. Maxwell was flowing excellent on Saturday, and the steelhead were hitting egg sacks.

The snow we have experienced on Sunday will melt with the 45 degree weather forecasted.

There is no shelf ice on any creeks, so tie on the egg sacks and go for the steelhead.

Bays; Last year at this time we devoted four paragraphs to current ice conditions. This year it can be summed-up in two words….no ice!

There is ice on the all the bays; however it’s less than 3 inches. Don’t try it.

Currently its 26 degrees, however tomorrow will reach a 40 to 45 degree mark.

It’s not a happy time for ice anglers, and with a coating of ice, you cannot launch a boat.

Erie Canal; The same situation is on the canal. The ice is not safe enough. Fish the streams or go hunt squirrels.
