July 4: Independence Extravaganza at the Lighthouse - 7am to 11am - Breakfast on the Bluff. Enjoy a hot breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, tea or juice outdoors under a tent on the lighthouse bluff overlooking Lake Ontario. Cost is $9, with proceeds helping to maintain Sodus Bay LIghthouse.  

  • 8am to 5pm - Lighthouse Art & Craft Show. Artists and craftspeople sell pottery, jewelry, clothing, paintings, photographs, greeting cards and much more on the lighthouse lawn.

The prgram will start with a brief introduction to basic photography, and then we'll head out for an easy 1-mile stroll through the woods, around the wetlands, and over the grasslands to photograph wildflowers, butterflies, and bird-perfect subjects for new photographers. July 18: Corning Museum of Glass’s GlassBarge In Lyons - A30’ x 80’ canal barge equipped with CMoG’s patented all-electric glassmaking equipment. In addition to sharing the story of glassmaking in Corning, the GlassBarge tour emphasizes the continued role of New York’s waterways in shaping the state’s industry, culture, and community. The GlassBarge will provide free demonstrations from 11 am to 6 pm. All demos are approximately 30 minutes long, and seating is limited. July 26: Montezuma Explorer Day Camp - 10am to 4pm. Learn about the wonders of Montezuma during a day of fun, nature based activities for kids ages 6-12. The hike begins through the forest (don't forget bug spray) and search for clues of the birds and other wildlife that live here.
