Heritage Music Series – “HEART OF AMERICAN MUSIC” By Cathy McGrath
An engaging concert of music from the heart of our history. Old time songs and tunes of all sorts are presented – love, home, Erie Canal, suffrage, historic, patriotic, dancing, folk and popular songs – and represent a valuable gauge to the popular taste in the music of bygone days. These melodies are part of our collective past, yet still resonate today.
An experienced folk music performer, Cathy uses an 1870’s guitar, limberjack puppets, banjo, wooden flute, and rolled tin whistle in this historical program and encourages the audience to sing their hearts out!
This event requires admission fee to Wayne County Fair.
The concert will be at the Front Porch of Floral Hall. This program has been made possible by a grant from the Robert G. Boehmler Community Foundation and through the generous contributions of our Wayne County Bicentennial Sponsors and other Bicentennial donors.
