Sodus Point & Lighthouse Splash
Community-wide event celebrates history, waterfront, and businesses
The Sodus Point & Lighthouse Splash on Saturday, Aug. 6 will celebrate all the village of Sodus Point has to offer visitors, as well the 150th anniversary of the Sodus Bay Lighthouse.
The inaugural event will showcase Sodus Point’s history, waterfront, and businesses. The Splash runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is family-focused with music and events for all ages. The three main areas of activity will be the Sodus Point Beach, the lighthouse, and the centrally located gazebo and Willow Park.
Activities will include several live bands at the beach and gazebo, sandcastle-building contests, water-focused fun, a craft and vendor fair, face-painting and costumed characters, wine and spirits tastings, and presentations by Underground Railroad historical interpretations at the lighthouse — celebrating Sodus Point’s rich history and aligning with the Harriett Tubman 200th birthday celebration.
