T. Boher’s One and Only Punch and Judy Puppet Show

One of the most familiar folk marionette/hand puppet shows, “Punch and Judy” as presented by Tom Bohrer and company, will perform to the delight all ages. As part of the Wayne County Bicentennial Family Fun Day celebration at the Wayne County Fair, T. Bohrer’s One-and-Only “Punch & Judy” will be on stage in the Big Tent on History Alley at 3 PM. Come experience a side of comical tragedy – or tragical comedy, as the case may be – with puppetry descended from the early 18th Century England, that moved to the United States with local performances at county fairs, city theaters, and streets as early as 1742, with the glove-puppet Punch appearing in New York City around 1828. Appearances of Punch in Upstate New York were as early as 1870s in the Rochester area.
Come enjoy this historical puppet theater presentation!
