Making Musical History!
Pultneyville United Methodist Church is holding a Dedication Concert for their new Allen Organ on Sunday March 12 at 3 p.m.. Organist Jane DeGroote will be performing an eclectic concert of religious, classic, and contemporary music designed to showcase the instrument’s range. Ms. DeGroote has been the Pultneyville United Methodist Organist for over 40 years and has a Bachelor of Music in Organ from State University of New York Oswego College where she studied under Dr Joseph Lyon. Joining Ms. DeGroote in the concert will be Lindsay Rynders Klemmer the church’s pianist and the Pultneyville United Methodist Choir under the direction of Cheryl Distenfeld.
Allen Organ produced the worlds first musical instrument utilizing digital sampling in 1971 and has been building digital organs for over 50 years. Pultneyville’s GX-215 utilizes Allen’s APEX technology to produce music with the clarity and transparency of the finest pipe organs. The organ has 34 standard voices with an additional 6 programmable voices including traditional organ voices and 128 orchestral instruments. The organ has a selection of pre-recorded hymns, preludes, and postludes which can be used on occasions when an organist is not available. Additionally, the organist can record music for later playback.
The congregation hopes you will join us for an afternoon of music. Light refreshments will be served.
